Mustards grow very quickly. Sow under protection 6-8 weeks before frost. Sow successively directly at 2-4 week intervals for continual harvest. Thin at the baby stage for salad greens, and allow the remainder to grow to maturity. Mustard sown for fall harvest yields best results. For a fall crop, direct sow in July/August. Spring sown crops must be harvested very young to beat bolting. Will over-winter with protection and give greens through January at least.
