On Saturday evening, around 150 people stopped by Roos Arts, in Rosendale, for Pollinator Dreams, our second annual gallery exhibition of original artwork featured on our Art Packs.
Thank you to everyone who attended–the show was a great success, and it was terrific to meet many of you and talk seeds, art, and gardening. Also, many thanks to all the folks who provided the delicious local vegan chow: Lagusta’s Luscious, Cafe Mio of Gardiner, Hollengold Farm, The Alternative Baker, and Lani Raider of the Culinary Institute of America.

Roos Arts will continue to exhibit the work through December 12th; the space is open Thursday through Sunday, 1-5 pm, and other times by appointment. The original artwork is all for sale. No original works were purchased on the first night, so they’re all still up for grabs. Do stop by or contact Heige at Roos Arts if you’re interested in any of the original works. While our Art Packs make great stocking stuffers, the original artwork makes a special, one-of-a-kind, archival-quality gift for any gardener. Also, many of Ayumi Horie’s beautiful “Pest and Pollinator” plates that were on view that evening are still available. Ayumi is known for her illustrations of various fauna on functional and comfortable ceramic wares. These plates feature drawings of those species that are important in the lives of gardeners: the pollinators responsible for making plants set seed and develop fruit, and the voracious pests that chow down on garden foliage whenever they’re given the chance. I found your seeds at GRDN in Brooklyn, and bought plenty of packs to include with my holiday cards this year. I targeted the trout lettuce and arugula as they would be the easiest for a novice to grow…
